Alan Jackson Star Ceremony Pays Homage To Country Superstar
Alan Jackson, one of country music's biggest stars, was honored with the Alan Jackson Star Ceremony (http://www.celebrityfootage.com/singleproduct.aspx?id=5673) earlier this year. Since releasing his first album in 1990, Jackson has put out thirteen full length albums, with his most recent, Freight Train, hitting stores on March 30th. This most recent honor is sure to secure his place in history as a country music icon.
Although it is a great honor to get a star on Hollywood Boulevard, this is not the first major award Alan Jackson has won. Over the years, he has taken home fourteen Academy Of Country Music Awards as well as twelve Country Music Association Awards. In 2002, he won the Best Country Song Grammy for his 9/11 tribute, 'Where Were You (When The World Stopped Turning).'
Over time, Alan Jackson has been the recipient of numerous awards and has accomplished much, although they did not all come with formal awards. Jackson has 50-million album sales under his belt in addition to thirty-four songs that have topped the charts. He clearly has no intention of slowing down at 51 years of age, with a new record release and a big tour on the horizon..
Jackson is in good company on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame, among many other starts of music, film and television. Other country legends who have received this special honor include Dolly Parton, Kenny Rogers and Reba McEntire. Even some iconic fictional characters have graced the Walk Of Fame, including Kermit The Frog and Lassie.
It may seem as though everyone who has ever graced the stage or screen has their name on Hollywood Boulevard, but they are not actually easy to get. There must be a campaign made by the companies that work with the star being considered. To be eligible, a performer is required to have spent a minimum of five years in the business and to have given back through charity work. You may also recall the Mel Brooks Star Ceremony (http://www.celebrityfootage.com/singleproduct.aspx?id=5688).
Although he may not make a big deal of his charitable contributions, Alan Jackson has certainly given back to the community. He has lent his support to both the Red Cross and the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital. Recently, he performed a concert to benefit the families of the Upper Big Branch mining disaster.
After the unveiling of his Hollywood Boulevard star, Alan Jackson treated some lucky fans to an intimate performance at a small Hollywood club called Hotel Cafe. He played a 21-song set to radio contest winners who flew in from all over the country for the occasion. Jackson rarely plays in such small venues and fans were thrilled to see him perform with his eight-piece band.
The Alan Jackson Star Ceremony (http://www.celebrityfootage.com/singleproduct.aspx?id=5673) recognized the accomplishments of a talented musician and loving humanitarian, whose efforts have forever changed country music. Whether he is making music or aiding charities, every move of his career has made a profound impact. Now that he has been immortalized in marble and pavement, his legacy is sure to live on forever.
